‘Last Chance to Save a Life’ coming soon

After nearly two years in production, we are pleased to announce that the latest documentary from Genepool Productions is completed.

‘Last Chance to Save a Life ‘(previously called ‘A Forgotten Cure‘) tells the remarkable story of how, in a world threatened by deadly antibiotic-resistant infections, new hope emerges from the unlikeliest of sources: viruses. Following patients, doctors and scientists in real time, this film bears witness to the global renaissance of ‘phage therapy’ – an ancient weapon in the battle against superbugs.

“…as this beautiful film highlights, phage therapy offers us tremendous hope. Hope that perhaps, as the global superbug threat builds, we will have some powerful new tools to fight back.” SONYA PEMBERTON producer / executive producer

Written and directed by Emma Watts, produced by Anna Mantzoros and Sonya Pemberton, this is an intimate story of extraordinary science.

Many thanks to our broadcast partner SBS Australia and funding partners Screen Australia and VicScreen.

International distribution by Abacus Media Rights.

On air date to be announced in early 2024.
