Emmy award-winning production company Genepool Productions is very pleased to welcome creative producer Kate Pappas and business affairs producer Chris Kamen to the team, supported by Film Victoria’s Screen Business Venture funding.
Sonya Pemberton, Creative Director, Genepool Productions: “We are looking to the future and these smart, talented young producers add a wealth of ideas, insight and energy to the creative mix at Genepool. It’s a genuine thrill to have them on board. We are very grateful for Film Victoria’s support via the Screen Business Venture scheme, an innovation designed to help build more ambitious and sustainable Victorian screen businesses.”
Film Victoria CEO, Caroline Pitcher said: “The growth and success of screen businesses are essential to maintaining a pipeline of production activity out of Victoria so we’re delighted that Genepool Productions has employed Kate and Chris as a result of Film Victoria’s Screen Business Ventures program.”
Creative producer Kate Pappas solidified her love of documentary by working on an award-winning slate both in the UK and here in Australia. Kate is keen to fuel her passion for science filmmaking and develop some exciting new projects as part of the Genepool team.
Business affairs producer Chris Kamen – with his background in production, impact, distribution, and legals – joins the company to orchestrate the global release of its films, create innovative financing models, and to maximise the impact of Genepool’s quality science programming around the world.
Both Kate and Chris will be attending AIDC next week.
